Kudos on getting that book on learning Japanese! Which book is it? I spent about five years in Japan and, as a result, I have about every Japanese textbook out there. Did you check out that website, YesJapan.com, that I mentioned? It’s probably the best website for learning Japanese.

What’s also cool and maybe you’ll like is Japanese manga called “What’s Michael?” — it’s sort of a Japanese version of Garfield. You can get the manga books at Amazon.com (search by quotes around “What’s Michael?”). Believe it or not, nearly all Japanese learn to read Japanese through comic books! How does that happen? Because each manga is geared to age groups and so they can read them because they learned the characters in school. If they don’t know a character, there are “training wheels” above the character that helps them how to read it. So, if you start out with something like What’s Michael?, learning Japanese can be fun.

i hope the japanese goes well for you. it’s really a cool language and a very interesting culture.

seeing your blog actually makes me feel kind of old. lol! it’s amazing how using technology is becoming second nature for younger generations. i have to say though, your dad is awesome. someday, if i have children of my own, i would hope that i am just as great a father as yours is.

dylan, keep up the blogging, always continue exploring and i’m sure you’ll go places in life.

First of all, may I introduce myself?
I love English, so since I was young, I always hope to be an English teacher.
Now I’m majoring English Education in HUFS(Hankuk University Foreign Studies) in Seoul, Korea. So my dream come true more or less.
These days I have prepared a report under the title of “English Education using a Computer.”
So I’ve been searching for the internet to find some home videos that were filmed by common people not by company. But all my effort come to nothing.

So if you offer me some videos, it would make me so happy.
That film is just about the children’s common life with their family and friends.
That doesn’t need to have something special stories but I hope the sound would be good and the playing time would be longer than 10 minutes. So the students will listen that sound clearly.
I wish that wouldn’t have any musics and sound effects. Although it would, it’s OK.
I want to use them as a way to teach English to other students.
And I promise that I wouldn’t use them for any other purpose but for education.

I really hope to get a good news from you.
